Q. SexyBookmarks configuration is different than shown in the video/ebook. What should I do?
A. This plugin has been updated since the book was created. Some configs like "Twitter" are no longer available. Just ignore those parts.  Just ensure the "Show in RSS feed?" is set to NO

Q. Why do my Wordpress.com stats no longer show in Dashboard?
A. Wordpress 3.1 includes a new plugin called Jetpack Wordpress.com.  Update your Wordpress blog to 3.1 and install the Wordpress.com Jetpack plugin from "Install plugins" page. Just put Jetpack in the search box to find it. You will be prompted to give your Wordpress.com account access to Jetpack and it will auto install over you old "Wordpress.com Stat Counter" plugin.

Q. I registered my blog and it has been 24 hours. Why haven't I heard anything?
A. Every registration will get a confirmation, rejection or problem status email within 24 hours.
It will come from tony@backlinknetworks.com. Check your spam or junk folder as it may have been moved there by over zealous spam filters. Please add the above email address to your white lis or contacts to ensure you get any updates, information or status reports

Q. I have errors showing where my links should be?
A. Occassionaly the network does not distribute links
. This is not a major problem in itself as it will catch up when it comes back on.

Over time things have been improved and changed and this means that some older blogs may currently be displaying an error message in place of the backlinks. To resolve this and to update your blogs can you please do one of the following.

IF YOU HAVE OTHER (NON- 20 MINUTE) BLOGS

You can access the latest code snippet or the latest plugin from

http://www.backlinknetworks.com/Register-Blog.php

1. If you have added a sidebar PHP widget and code snippet then remove that widget and install the new Backlink Networks plugin. That will create a Backlink Networks widget that can be dropped into the sidebar. No configuration or additional code is needed.

OR

2. If you have added a code snippet to the footer of your blog. Simply update that code with the latest version on the page at the link above.

20 Minute Blogs

Are  you using the latest "Easier Installation" template?  download now from your original download link.
Most issues can be resoved by using the latest template. Download  the latest template (upload-this.zip)
and install a new blog. You cannot load the template over an existing blog -it will overwite your old blog and you will lose the content.

As with any website you should ensure you have a suitable backup before making changes.

Unzip this file to your PC and it contains two files – You ONLY need to use one to update your blog.

EITHER

upload (using filezilla or cPanel filemanager) and overwrite the sidebar.php to your blog. It can be found at

yoursite/wp-contents/themes/topblog/sidebar.php (example only)

OR

If you are not comfortable uploading files then you can do the following INSTEAD

from wp-admin (dashboard) choose Appearance/Editor from the left hand menu. Then choose sidebar.php from the right hand file menu.

ENSURE YOU ARE EDITING SIDEBAR.PHP

When the file content is displayed in the edit window copy the content of the sidebar.txt file you downloaded and paste it into the file editor overwriting the original contents. You may want to delete the original content first if that is easier.


Dont forget to save the changes by clicking "Update File"

Q. I can't log into my new blog what's the problem?
A. The default login is  admin/admin  use this login.You can change the password when you configure your blog (NOT UNTIL AFTER IMPORTING THE NEW DATABASE) .Then change your password to increase your blog security. We recommend at least 14 characters and include upper and lower case, numbers and other characters i.e. $(*).

Q.  My RSS feed is not dislplaying correctly - Why not?
Q.  My pages are not dislplaying correctly - Why not?
Q.  My post images are not dislplaying correctly - Why not?
A.  Reset your Permalink settings.
From your Wordpress dashboard choose Settings/Permalinks.
Select the "Default" radio button and Save
Re-select the "Custom" radio button . Ensure   %/postname%/   is
displayed in the custom field and save the settings.

Q.  I have installed the template and updated the database but when I go to wp-admin it ask me to update my database?
A.  Wordpress makes regular updates and sometimes these are to the database. It is pretty normal. Just accept the updates and carry on.

Q. I cannot see the SexyBookmarks icons at the bottom of my post?
A.  Go to the SexyBookmarks configuration page (In Dashboard, from the very bottom of the left hand menu)
Simply re-save the configuration. It seems any changes to SexyBookmarks needs you to re-save the settings.
You will also need to do this afte you are prompted by Wordpress for a plugin update.

Q.  I have installed the template and updated the database but when I go to wp-admin I get a strange error message?
Q.  I have installed the template and updated the database but when I go to wp-admin I just goes to another website or non-existant web page?
A.  You have NOT edited the database, or NOT edited the database correctly. You need to put your full site URL
ie. http://www.yoursite.com
in the first field of the wp-options table.  See Video 2 0  Latest Installation Instructions or see latest PDF for installation instructions.

Q. The .sql file in the sql-database folder has a different name than the one in the instructions?
A.  Don't worry, the file gets updated occasionally and the name may change but there will be
ony one .sql file in the folder.

Q. I cannot see the same files in my download folder as shown on the video -why?
A.  As the product is updated regularly you may see different files in "upload-this" folder.
Don't worry as any differences that you need to know about will be documented in the installation instructions in the latest PDF. Download the latest PDF version.

Q.  My default Wordpress blog is higher than Version 3.1.1 and I can't install the template successfully
A.  Check your original download page and ensure you have the latest template and PDF versions.
Wordpress continually updates themselves and any already installed template/blogs will automatically
update when you perform the Wordpress and/or plugin updates. The template is updated regulary to ensure compatibiity with the lates Wordpress version.
New installations should always use the latest template version.

Q. I get a whole list of error messages when I run KCC?
A.  There are 2 important things you must do before running KCC.
1. First is to go to the Proxy Config page and click the "Configure Proxy" button (leave the form blank).

2. Click the "GetSEOmoz API" link and follow the instructions to create and account. Then follow the Get API Link AGAIN and you will be taken dierctly to the API page. Scroll down to find your API keys. Add them to KCC being very carefull not miss any characters off or add any spaces etc on. (yes your access id includes the word "member")

Q. I get all green and zero in the results when  I run KCC?
A.  Check your API keys are correct and corectly installed.

Q. I get a "Windows installer" errors when installing Keyword Ideas Tool?
A. This is  known issue taht is being worked on. it does NOT stop the KIT application installing
or working correctly. Simply close the error window and the installation will continue.
